Children & Youth Therapy
-
Our therapists support children and youth with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, family changes (such as divorce), peer issues, school-related stress, trauma, grief, and more. We meet each child where they’re at and tailor our approach to their specific needs and goals.
-
Parental involvement is an important part of the therapeutic journey, especially for younger children. Depending on the age and needs of your child, we may involve parents in regular check-ins, provide strategies for home support, or schedule joint sessions. Our goal is to work collaboratively to support your child’s growth both in and outside of therapy.
-
Individual therapy typically involves talk-based sessions using evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT, focused on helping youth explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Music therapy is a creative, interactive form of therapy that uses music as a tool for expression, emotional processing, and skill-building. Both are effective and can be offered separately or in combination, depending on your child’s interests and needs.
-
If your child is struggling with their emotions, behaviour, relationships, or showing signs of distress that are affecting their daily life, therapy can be a helpful step. You don’t need to have everything figured out—our therapists will help assess your child’s needs and determine the best approach to support their well-being.
-
Both our Kitchener and Guelph locations offer individual therapy for children and youth with skilled, compassionate therapists. The Guelph location also offers music therapy services as an additional option for creative healing and support. No matter the location, you can expect a safe, welcoming environment and personalized care for your child.
